We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn joyfully.

After founding Waypoint Education, Alayne saw firsthand that one of the biggest obstacles in education is access.

These inequities were highlighted as families declined necessary support for their children based on cost alone. Wayfinders leverages the process, approach, and interventionists from Waypoint to provide education services at an accessible cost.

The mission of Wayfinders is to ensure quality support from trained interventionists/therapists is accessible to students from all backgrounds, regardless of their financial resources. Wayfinders is a 501(c)(3) organization that serves children in Louisville, KY.

How it works

Our mission is to ensure quality support from trained interventionists/therapists is accessible to students from all backgrounds, regardless of their financial resources.

When a family is referred to Waypoint for support, they will have the option to apply for financial assistance through Wayfinders, our sister organization.

  • You will first submit an inquiry form on the Waypoint website and check the box indicating that your family also plans to submit an application via Wayfinders demonstrating the need for financial assistance.

  • Once you are notified that your child is placed on the waitlist, you will be able to complete the application for financial assistance on the Wayfinders website.

We have the right to hold acceptances to meet the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging goals for the organization. Not all that apply will be able to receive financial aid or be accepted. Our services are also based on therapist availability and fundraising.

  • The Wayfinders board of directors will review referrals and applications, make decisions, and notify families of financial aid decisions on a rolling basis as Waypoint therapists have availability. Information submitted for the purpose of making financial assistance decisions is confidential.

  • When your child is accepted into the program, you will be contacted to schedule an initial assessment.
